At the Stadium of Light in Sunderland, the home side will host Chelsea in the 38th round of the Premier League.

Thanks to strong performances in recent matches, Sunderland climbed closer to the upper part of the EPL table and currently occupy ninth place. Last week Sunderland defeated Everton away from home, and they did it in a very convincing manner, with the final score on the board showing 1:3.

At the time of writing this preview, I still do not know the result of Chelsea’s match against Tottenham Hotspur, but before that the team had been going through a long series of disappointing results. Right now, the London club are simply playing out the remainder of the season while hoping for a fresh start next year.

Prediction for the Sunderland vs Chelsea

The home side still have a chance to qualify for European competitions, but only a victory will satisfy them. Chelsea, on the other hand, can play with more freedom, and interestingly enough, this is exactly what they have lacked throughout the season. My intuition says that this freedom will allow Chelsea to finally show their quality, so the recommended bet is a Chelsea win.
