The central fixture of Matchweek 28 in the Premier League could have a major impact on the title race in the 2025/2026 season. Arsenal and Chelsea will face off at the Emirates Stadium in London in what promises to be a high-intensity London derby.

After dropping points in two consecutive draws against Brentford and Wolverhampton, Arsenal managed to bounce back in the previous round. The Gunners delivered an impressive away victory over Tottenham Hotspur. Overall, it is becoming clear that the busy schedule is affecting the London side’s consistency, but with even a slight recovery period, Arsenal tend to dominate their opponents.

Chelsea recently enjoyed a solid winning streak of four matches, but the team failed to secure victories in their last two games. Much to the disappointment of their fans, the Blues dropped points against teams from the lower half of the table, drawing 2–2 with Leeds United and 1–1 with Burnley.

Prediction for the Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal no longer possess the comfortable cushion that previously allowed room for mistakes. Their lead over second place has been reduced to just five points, while Manchester City still have a game in hand. Chelsea technically remain in the title race, but their chances are slim — the club would likely need to win all of their remaining eleven matches while also relying on slip-ups from their competitors.

For this reason, we can expect a heated clash between two English football giants. In my view, Arsenal should come out on top thanks to home advantage and a more reliable defensive structure. The recommended pick is an Arsenal win.
