The Loons

The Loons is a versatile and vibrant entertainment venue in the renovated Lyttelton Working Men's Club. Since opening in 2007, The Loons has produced and hosted everything from cabaret shows to theatre & dance performances as well as the (in)famous Loons Quiz Night. As well as being a producer of entertainment, The Loons is also available to hire as a venue. Live music is a regular event at The Loons with many album release parties & gigs by local and visiting musicians. The venue was also part of the Christchurch International Arts Festival and has hosted many corporate groups for events such as conference entertainment and Christmas socials.

Seating options are wide and varied, ranging from a comfy lounge feel with heaps of sofas, full or narrow tables with chairs, through to tiered seating on scaffolding. There is a licensed bar, a pool table and food is available onsite.
