Summer is a wonderful time to be living in the Garden City and enjoying the City coming alive with blooms and buskers, comedy and classical music, cycling and kites and most of all a lot of fun out in our wonderful backyard of parks and gardens that will this year like no other become a focal point for the summer.
Garden City SummerTimes kicks off for 2009 with Anthony Harper Lawyers New Years Eve Party in Cathedral Square and then moves onto Lazy Weekend concerts from the 10th January for eight weekends. The hilarious Anthony Harper Lawyers Summer Theatre and Tip Top Kite Day are back before ASB Classical Sparks on the 5th February. Sunday Bandstand starts in February with the best of Christchurch’s brass and pipe bands and every bear in the city will be heading to Mona Vale on the 15th February for the McDonald’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
This years programme has something for everyone and its all free! So pack a picnic, grab the family, throw on a hat and some sunscreen and get out and enjoy the wonderful entertainment that the City has to offer.
